Daylytix’s AI features run on your own API key from the AI provider. You pay the provider directly at their rates, on every Daylytix plan, and you stay in control of spending. Most of the audit itself runs without any AI key.

If you only add one key, Gemini covers the most tools. Add an Anthropic key as well for Claude in AI Chat and the Content Writer, Content Brief and the best Bulk Meta results.
Adding a key
- Create a key with the provider: Gemini at Google AI Studio and Anthropic in the Anthropic Console (API Keys).
- In Daylytix, open App Settings → AI Integrations.
- Paste the key in the provider’s section and click Test Key.
- Click Save Settings.
In the Gemini section you can also pick the Default Model; the list loads the models your key can use.
Once a Gemini key is saved, the Gemini AI Tools panel shows Gemini key set next to its title; without one it shows No Gemini key - add yours in Settings. The badge only checks that a key is saved. To check that the key works, use Test Key in AI Integrations.
How your key is stored
Your keys are stored with your account on Daylytix’s servers and are used only for your own requests to that provider. They are never shown to other users and never written into audits or reports. To stop using a key, delete it in AI Integrations and revoke it in the provider’s console.
Costs
Each provider bills you for what you use. Costs depend on the model and the length of the text - writing a long article with a large model costs far more than generating meta descriptions with a small one. Set a monthly spending limit in each provider’s console so there are no surprises.
What works without a key
Crawling, the audit checks and score, Search Console and Analytics data, rank tracking, reports and exports all work without an AI key. AI features show a message asking for a key when none is set.
The one exception is the Toro Assistant help chat. It answers questions about using Daylytix on Daylytix’s own key, so it works without a key and costs you nothing.
Troubleshooting
Test Key fails
Copy the key again without spaces, and check that billing is set up with the provider - new accounts often need a payment method before the API works.
A tool says no key is configured
The Gemini tools say Gemini API key not configured. Add your own key in Settings, on the AI Integrations tab. Check which provider the tool uses (table above) and that its key is saved in App Settings → AI Integrations while you are signed in to your own account.
