AI agents do more than read a page. Some open a site, fill in a form and act for a person. The Agent Readiness tab shows what stands in their way. You find it under Technical in the audit results. It has its own score from 0 to 100, which is not part of your overall audit score.
What counts toward the score
| Check | Weight | What it looks at |
|---|---|---|
| Content readable without JavaScript | 35 | The share of sampled pages that show their main content with no JavaScript. It comes from the JavaScript rendering check, on the Pro and Agency plans and during the trial. If that check did not run, this line is shown and not scored. |
| AI bots allowed in robots.txt | 30 | Whether your robots.txt lets in the bots that AI answers cite from. |
| Semantic, accessible markup | 15 | Real buttons and links, labelled form fields and roles on controls built from plain boxes. Screen readers and agents read the same signals. |
| Markdown guide for agents (llms.txt) | 5 | A site with no llms.txt loses nothing here: the file is optional, a few AI tools read it and Google does not. |
A score of 70 or more is strong and 45 or more is fair. Below that it is weak.
What is shown but not counted
These three are new, so they stay out of the score.
- Agent-action markup (WebMCP) is markup that tells agents how to act on a site, such as search or book. The line says if we found it on any page.
- Google Lighthouse Agentic Browsing is Lighthouse’s own category for agents, read from the mobile PageSpeed run of your start page. The line gives how many of its audits passed and names the ones that failed.
- Files for AI agents lists the files below that we found on your site.
The Lighthouse category is new, and an audit in it can fail on a site with nothing wrong, so treat a failed audit as something to check. Run Lighthouse on the page to see the elements behind it.
Files for AI agents
| File or signal | What it is for |
|---|---|
/.well-known/ai-catalog.json | Lets agents find your tools and resources. |
/.well-known/ucp | A commerce profile for agents that shop, under the Universal Commerce Protocol. |
/.well-known/api-catalog | A list of your APIs. |
/.well-known/agent-card.json | An A2A agent card, which describes an agent you run. |
Agentmap: in robots.txt | A line that points agents to your catalog. |
| A Markdown version | The start page answers Accept: text/markdown, or links to a Markdown copy. |
All of these are optional. A missing file is no fault. A file that is there but broken, such as a catalog that is not valid JSON, is named in the tab so you can fix or remove it.
