Project memory holds what an AI assistant should know about a site: what the business does, who it is for, its goals, how it stands apart, how its copy should read and which pages matter most. AI Chat reads it, so it stops asking the same questions or guessing, and so do assistants you connect over MCP. There is one memory per site, kept in the site’s Brand Profile, on every plan.
Where to find it
- Open Technical → Brand Profile in the sidebar. The Essentials view hides it: click Show all tools at the bottom of the sidebar, or press Ctrl+K (Cmd+K on a Mac) and type Brand Profile.
- The Domain box starts with the site of the audit you have open. Type or pick another domain and click Load to switch.
- Fill in the Project memory card and click Save profile.
The fields
| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| What the business does | Online course platform for nurses in Germany and Austria |
| Audience | Nurses preparing for the German language exam |
| Current goals | More sign-ups from organic search in Q4 |
| Positioning | The only course built by practising nurses |
| Writing preferences | Plain, friendly, no jargon; address the reader as you |
| Key pages | One per line: the URL, a space, then why it matters |
A key page line looks like this:
https://example.com/pricing main conversion page
Lines that do not start with http:// or https:// are dropped, and up to 30 key pages are kept. Each text field holds up to 2,000 characters. The Notes box in the card above is part of the memory too.
The memory follows the domain, so www.example.com and example.com share one, while each subdomain has its own. It belongs to your login and is not shared with other Daylytix accounts.
Who reads it
| Tool | How it uses the memory |
|---|---|
| AI Chat | In both modes, when the conversation is about an audit of that site. It treats the memory as your own description, not as checked facts. |
| Claude, ChatGPT and other MCP clients | Read it for any of your sites; see Connecting Claude and ChatGPT. |
The other AI tools, such as the Content Writer, Content Brief, meta generator and schema tools, do not read the memory. Give them the context in their own fields.
Letting AI Chat update it
With Agent mode on in AI Chat (it needs your own Gemini key), you can ask it to remember something, for example “Remember that our goal this quarter is more demo requests.” It is set up to change the memory only when you ask, and it saves at once, for the site of the audit in the conversation.
- For a text field, AI Chat writes the whole new text, which replaces what was there. Read the field back after a change.
- It can add or remove competitors and key pages.
- It cannot change the brand name or the other Brand Profile facts.
After an AI Chat change, the Brand Profile shows Last changed by AI Chat. If AI Chat changes the memory while you have the Brand Profile open, Save profile does not overwrite it. It asks you to click Load first, so you edit the latest version.
Other buttons
- Apply to AI Visibility copies the brand name and competitors from the Brand Profile into the Prompt Tracker settings.
- Delete removes the whole Brand Profile of that domain, the memory included. It asks first and cannot be undone.
